TRY THE REASONING BEFORE THE COURSE
The quarter closes today. The evidence does not.
Your CFO asks you to record revenue before quarter-end. Customer acceptance is still missing. “We have always done it this way,” they say. What is your strongest next step?
Read the reasoning
The strongest starting point is the evidence and applicable criteria. Identify what is known, what remains unverified and which obligations apply. Consider pressure, affected stakeholders and whether consultation or escalation is proportionate. Neither routine practice nor an unsupported allegation resolves the evidence gap. The facts and relevant standards determine the accounting conclusion.

Connie Control

THE TESTED DECISION CYCLE
Make your judgment TESTED.
SHALALA’s teaching framework helps structure the questions. It works alongside applicable professional standards; it does not replace them.
Approximately 1 hour per module, or approximately 4 hours for all four modules, including assessment and reflection. Full completion may take longer.
Work through the lesson and learning guide.
Complete the module's final assessment and reflection.
Keep your learning objectives, assessment record and available completion evidence with your CPD records.
Count completed learning that is relevant to your role under your professional body's rules. Where hours are required, record qualifying active learning time, exclude breaks and administration, and avoid counting overlapping video and companion time twice.

AUSTRALIA ETHICS CPD · CHECK THE SOURCE
Your membership and reporting period come first.
View professional-body requirements and official sources
Choose guidance for your professional body and designation. Living in Australia does not, by itself, determine your CPD requirement. Check your confirmed reporting cycle, eligible learning, exemptions and any separate registration obligations.
Standard requirements include two verifiable ethics hours each year and ten across the member's three-year period. Use the period in your CPD Diary. The annual and cycle targets overlap; they are not added together. Exemptions and earlier transition periods need a separate check.
CA ANZ: use your My CA period
For three-year periods starting on or after 1 July 2024, the standard target is six verifiable ethics hours. Earlier periods have different requirements. Use your fixed July–June cycle shown in My CA, and check annual overall CPD and any exemption separately.
IPA: check the 2026 framework
IPA changed its CPD framework in 2026. Requirements depend on your designation and period. This planner directs IPA members to current guidance instead of calculating a shortfall. Affiliate and AAT members have separate rules.
Official sources checked 15 October 2026 (UTC). Follow your body's current guidance if its rules change. This independently offered training is not presented as prescribed regulatory training or as approved by these bodies.
